Description: Lovely, vintage, hand crafted metal alloy modernist design bowl, with original label on base, in very good used condition (VGUC). Maker: Nambé Model #6178Dated 1998 From the maker: Nambe alloy is a proprietary blend of 8 metals, the signature of Nambé. The alloy is nonporous, lightweight, and has the ability to retain heat and cold for long periods of time. When polished, it has a silver-like luster and is resistant to tarnish, chipping, and peeling. Nambé alloy is also oven-safe and freezer-safe. The alloy was discovered in 1951 by a metallurgist from Los Alamos, who named it after a Native American pueblo in New Mexico. Nambé combines the alloy with fine materials and hand craftsmanship, and each item is inspected before being engraved with the Nambé name and its item number.
