Description: In the 1995-96 NBA Basketball season, Michael Jordan's first full season after coming out of retirement, the Chicago Bulls went 72-10, the first team to win 70+ games in the regular season. They capped off their remarkable year by winning the first Championship of their second 3-peat run. To celebrate the 1996 Finals, a marketing firm called Preferred Customer Service issued this 7-coin commemorative set. Nothing in the accompanying material states the name of the private mint that struck the coins, but I am 100% certain it was Highland Mint. You can find exact copies of the Bulls NBA Champions coin (this one is gold-plated) struck in .999 silver in an edition size of 7,500, from Highland Mint. (#2247 is currently offered on eBay for $69.99.) Only 300 sets were produced, each serially-numbered, with the serial number on each coin. This is set number 293. Each coin is one full Troy ounce of .999 silver. Three coins are plated in 24K gold. Each coin is in the original plastic capsule, and displayed in the custom soft brown leather-like case. Included are the letter and card from PCS that serve as authentication. The booklet mentioned in the letter is not present. The individual capsules were removed from the case for photographing and returned to the case. The capsules were not opened nor the coins handled. Again, only 300 sets were made. A smart investment not only in vintage Bulls collectibles but in precious metals. I am priced well below the two other sets of this release that are currently on eBay, and shipping is included. I am also listing the 1998 set of (8) .999 silver coins, (4) w/ 24K gold.
