This version comes with a factory steel worm gear. A lifetime warranty comes with this kit. A metal on metal gear setup causes a noticeable gear whine. Other brass gear kits require grinding/machining off the old gear and then drilling/pinning/glueing the new gear on which can cause major issues if not positioned correctly on the shaft. This kit comes with a new front thrust washer and detailed instructions with colored photos. You will reuse your rear thrust washer. White lithium grease is needed to lube up the gear housing. Typical symptoms of bad vertical gears are: 1. Motor runs but no seat movement. Usually the gears are stripped. 2. Motor clicks but no seat movement.
