Description: Vintage 1992 MAJIC 102.7 Elvis Happy Birthday Card with Printed Host Signatures Description Up for sale is a rare, vintage (or nearing vintage) Majic 102.7/WMXJ FM Good Time Oldies Radio station promotional post card with the image of Elvis Presley holding a birthday cake that reads Happy Happy Birthday! on it from 1992. Inside, the printed header on the card to the right reads: Have a real "good time" on your birthday or we'll be "all shook up"! and right below that, you'll see the station call sign/logo which is basically just WMXJ FM Majic 102.7 and then the Good Time Oldies format slogan underneath that title. After this, the post card is signed by all the radio personalities/DJ's/hosts that were on at the time and the printed signatures on the card read: Sonny Fox, Joe Johnson, Mike Perry, Ron Hersey, David Reynolds, Ken Held, Ron St. John, Eric Brandon, and Mindy Lang. These signatures do not seem to be actual signatures, but rather just printed copies of the original signatures; most likely done by the signature copy printer back in the day... what is impressive though is that the signatures are done in various colors (i.e. black, red, blue, and green) which was kind of ahead of the curve a bit in as far as printing technology is or was concerned at the time. And that time, of course is 1992... as indicated by the copyright listed on the back of the postcard towards the bottom; which reads ©1992 Eagle Marketing Inc. For Collins, CO. This post card measures approximately 4.5" wide by 6" tall when closed and just a hair under 9" wide when opened. It exhibits a bit of wear to it; as it was kept in a drawer and belonged to a family member who is no longer with us... so for all intents and purposes, this post card is being sold as part of an ongoing online estate sale of sorts. I can't exactly recall the reason why they had received this postcard in the mail, but it may have had something to do with some sort of call in radio participation or something; enough to prompt a thoughtful gesture like that on behalf of the Majic 102.7 marketing team back in the day. It's really things like this that you don't see all that often anymore... doing a search for a similar item such as this yielded no results and the closest thing that I was able to find was a Majic 102.7 t-shirt, so I guess that makes this a pretty unique and somewhat rare item. As mentioned before, this card has a few blemishes on it; mostly appearing in the form of a mild touch of yellowing brought on by age and a few scuff marks on the cover near the top along Elvis's hairline and another off to the right side in the clouds (which I really couldn't manage to successfully take a good picture of in the product photos). Aside from those minor scuff marks, there's also an impression mark that appears in the form of a bubble or raised circle just off from Elvis' jaw line... making him look like he's almost got a cyst of some sort. Aside from that there are also a few diagonal shaped crease marks that are slightly visible from the upper right corner on the cover. Then, on the inside of the card there's some spotting happening throughout the left hand side of the card (the one that's all blank). I really can't say for sure how these marks got on there, but they look like ink stains. Other than that there's a slight impression mark just above the a and the l of the Have a real "good time" header on the main page with all the signatures, and finally the back has some further line marks and blemishes throughout the rear cover which may have left an impression on the obverse side of the card (which is where the printed signatures are) and there's also some minor spotting located towards the upper left of this rear portion of the card as well. Overall, I'd give this card a 9.2 out of 10 in as far as cosmetic condition is concerned. I'm pricing this item accordingly; as it's pretty rare and some of the DJ's that signed the card (even though they are factory reproduced prints) are no longer with us as well... so there has to be some kind of intrinsic value in this one-of-a-kind/hard-to-find item. I figure anybody with a love for the history of oldies rock 'n roll radio will appreciate this gem of time capsule here. Anyways, please be sure to get in on this deal while it still lasts, for my loss is your gain as they say in the trade. Seller's Terms Immediate payment is required for this item listing.
