This early “Made in Japan” Tele Custom boasts a number of premium upgrades including a set of Fender USA's Pure Vintage ‘52 single coil pickups, USA-spec CTS pots, a bone nut, and compensated brass saddles. Tonewoods include a basswood body, maple neck, and an extremely dark, tight-grained slab rosewood fretboard, and this TL62B-70 weighs 7lbs 7oz. The Pure Vintage ‘52 single coil pickups are extremely faithful to vintage spec, featuring Alnico 3 magnets, enamel-coated magnet wire, black fiber bobbins and cloth-covered leads, yielding quintessential Tele sparkle and twang. The bridge pickup has a focused, gutsy punch, and toggling towards the neck yields broad, smooth tones that maintain excellent articulation. This Telecaster Custom TL62B-70 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
