This set was minted and sold in 1986 to raise money for the rehabilitation and repairs to the Statue of Liberty, and also to commemorate its 100 year anniversary. Included in the pair are the 1986-S Proof Silver Dollar & the 1986-S Clad Proof Half Dollar. The Dollar is 90% silver. The set does come in the original government packaging which consists of the outer box, the felt presentation box, and certificates of authenticity.As you can see from the pics both coins are in great shape! They both have that beautiful mirror finish you come to expect from proof coins. The coins have no major toning and no major blemishes which is pretty rare for proof coins from this era.
