Description: This is an original 1984 AMC, Jeep, Renault full page newspaper ad proof that was published in several New York, New Jersey and Connecticut newspapers in 1984. The ad was part of an advertising campaign by the New York, New Jersey, Connecticut AMC, Jeep, Renault Dealer Advertising Association. The ad promotes the full line of 1984 models including Renault Encores, Alliances, Jeep Cherokees and Wagoneers and AMC Eagles. All 1983 Leftovers are listed as well including: Renault Alliances, Fuegos, 18i Sedans and Wagons, AMC Eagles, Concords, Spirits, Jeep CJ’s, Cherokees, Wagoneers and Pickups. (See Photos).The ad also lists the 106 member dealers of the association and features illustrations of the Renault Alliance, Encore and Jeep Cherokee. In the ‘70’s, ‘80’s and ‘90’s newspapers were the primary print media for all categories of advertisers, particularly retail.Print advertising was the major revenue source for all newspapers at the time. With the advent of the internet and social media, newspaper advertising revenue eventually migrated to the more targeted direct-to-customer media that the internet and social media offers. The flow of print advertisers moving away from newspapers to the internet and social media has been so severe that thousands of daily and weekly newspapers cease to exist today. The internet is making newspapers obsolete. Provenance and Content Validation. My agency, Hank Forssberg Inc., Advertising handled the advertising and marketing for numerous AMC, Jeep, Renault dealer advertising associations in multiple markets throughout the United States from 1972 through 1988. Newspapers were the primary media my agency utilized at the time for our retail clients particularly our automotive clients. AMC, Jeep and Renault were eventually taken over by Chrysler. Chrysler was eventually taken over by Fiat and now these multiple automotive manufacturing companies have been merged into the global automotive conglomerate Stellantis N.V. This AMC, Jeep, Renault vintage newspaper ad is just one example of the many unique and rare collectibles from my extensive Automotive Collection that I am in the process of selling. For the past 48 years or so, I have kept all my collectibles in an archival storage environment in order to preserve as much of their original condition as possible. All of my collectibles are originals and are in good to excellent condition. This 1984 newspaper ad measures approximately 14 inches wide x 22 inches deep. The dealer listing measures approximately 5 ½ inches wide x 22 inches deep. The dealer listing would be placed on the page facing the full-page ad. The full-page ad would be placed on a right-hand page and the dealer listing would be place on a left-hand facing page. This 1984 newspaper advertising proof is in excellent condition. As you can see in the photos, it shows some age yellowing but is in overall excellent condition. (See photos).
