Jim Tait is one of many New Orleans and Jefferson animal owners that took advantage of the low-cost rabies campaign for dogs and cats, Sunday, April 1, from 1 to 5 p.m. Jim holds the head of his Great Dane, Santa Fe, 4, as Dr. Myron vaccinated her. Dr Myron Smith, a veterinarian, was on hand at the firehouse on Louisiana Avenue. Dr. Smith was representing the Association of New Orleans Veterinarians that joined with the Jefferson Parish Health Unit, the Louisiana SPCA, and the Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter in sponsoring the annual low-cost rabies vaccination.
