Appreciation of art is naturally subjective but I have always considered this perhaps my favorite of all Sanjulian paintings and by any measure I think it is at the very least one of Sanjulian’s greatest masterpieces. Decades ago (in the 1990s) this painting was purchased directly from Sanjulian. This was one of Sanjulian’s personal favorite paintings and appears as prominent illustration in numerous books.
