Stepan in Nazaruk's drawings is a hard-working guy, truthful, able to keep his word. The artist depicted him as stately and strong. The Mistress revealed to Stepan a beauty that he could not forget. Nazaruk also conveyed the majestic nature of the Urals: cliffs and stones, the inner wealth of the mountains, glowing birches and carved fern leaves, rowan berries and a crystal spring.
