Description: CASE XX USA 9 dot 1981 “lightning S” stamp.Pattern # 52042 R SSP “Crown Penknife”, 3” closed.This knife was part of the Case “Gentlemen’s Line” of small knives. This line was only in production for about two years, 1979-1981.This knife was supposed to have a bail at the lower bolster; however, it does not.It appears that a previous owner removed the bail and polished out the lower bolster.Brass liners and pins.The blade steel is Tru-Sharp (stainless) steel.Nice genuine stag handles. No cracks or chips.Both blades have strong snap no wobble.The blades are mint - never sharpened, carried, or cleaned, original factory finish and edges.Calling the knife “near mint” only due to the missing bail.
