Hugh Goldsberry, a bulldozer operator for Peters Construction Co. of Des Moines, looks over an ancient tusk he uncovered Tuesday while removing gravel from Jester Park north of Des Moines. Dr. Holmes Semken, associate professor in the University of Iowa Geology Department, believes the tusk, which may be 10,000 years old, is likely from a woolly mammoth.
