A woman wrapped in a rebozois on her knees praying to the Virgen Saint of San Juan de Los Lagos.In the background is a cathedral in Leon, Guanajuato. The text describes a woman giving thanks to the Madre Santisima de San Juande Los Lagos for returning her son from death after her prayers were received. This piece, although unsigned, is by the master Retablo painter Vicente Barajas, of which we have other examples with the same handwriting and stylistic choicesthat support this attribution. Approx.
