Wallace, a former Alabama governor and now third party candidate for the presidency, sat atop the back sear of a convertible waving and blowing kisses to the throngs which lined both sides of the street. He was showered with confetti and paper tape along the 10 block route. Police estimates of the crowd varied, from 10,000 to 300,000.
