The coin depicts the Power Station associated with the Aswan High Dam and commemorates the fact that on January 9, 1968 the power station started generating electric power. The coin is labeled (Al Gomhouriah al-Arabiah al-Mutahida) United Arab Republic as opposed to Arab Republic of Egypt. The coin was minted when Egypt and Syria where united into a confederation. It is KM-415 and weighs 25 grams of 0.72 silver. It measures approximately 40 mm in diameter. Please carefully review the scan as it is part and parcel of our description. Date: 1968 AD - 1387 AH.
