Description: 1964 JAMAICA QUEEN ELIZABETH II ONE PENNY - VINTAGE COIN KM39 This 1964 Jamaican penny is one of the last Jamaican coins to feature the image of the Queen. 1969 was the first year that Jamaica issued its own decimal coinage, after gaining independence in 1962. Prior to 1969, Jamaica used UK Sterling coinage: pennies, sixpence, schillings, and half crowns. The obverse of this 1964 Jamaica penny features an early portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The reverse features the coat of arms with Arawaks and the national motto “Out of Many, One People”. Please check out my other unique collectible items!!
