Description: Handsome fold-out Esso 1963 road map of Baltimore and vicinity, printed more than 52 years ago. This map opens to 16½" x 24" and has great detail on old street and highway alignments, with cartography by the General Drafting Company. There's a regional map of the greater Baltimore area on the reverse side, covering the area from Reisterstown to Middle River, south to Glen Burnie. The attractive cover graphics show Francis Scott Key, author of "The Star Spangled Banner," at the bombardment of Fort McHenry in 1814, with Old Glory flying proudly. The map was distributed by the Humble Oil & Refining Company to promote its Esso brand and is dated April 1963 in the legend. The code number on the back cover is P363.
