1962 A.C. Gilbert Erector Set 10074 100% Complete! RARE! With inventory Sheets

Description: 12-03-24 (date I built it) 10074 BOX 1961 8 1/2 “The Ferris Wheel set” AC Gilbert Erector Set ************************************************************** 100% COMPLETE. INVENTORIED AND LAID OUT LIKE IT WOULD BE WHEN SOLD NEW ********************************************* 10074 Set DETAILS: $$$$$ MANY PARTS ARE ORIGINAL , SOME ARE STRIPPED AND REPAINTED and the BOX is in good shape for a 1961!$$$$$$$ This set is in good shape! Much of it is very nice ORIGINAL parts. I point out the exceptions below. The set is 100 % COMPLETE NOW After I have inventoried it, made it complete by adding as correct a part as I can. Using the book "Greenberg's Guide to the Erector Sets Vol 2" (ISBN # 0897780752) - COMPLETE down to every screw, nut and washer! I have laid it out on the baseplates and cardboard per the layout diagram, (Per Greensburg's guide to erector sets) using brads. (Copy of inventory sheet is included) This is the perfect Christmas, birthday or anniversary gift! Get it for your child or perhaps dad or grandad had one when they were young! Or buy this for someone very special in your life to just proudly display like I have had done with my 65 sets for many years. Or, YOURSELF!! What else can you buy that is 63 years old that still looks like this? Certainly not 99% of all the things produced back then, including cars! The best STEM TOY/TRAINER U CAN BUY U CAN BUY FOR YOUR CHILDREN! This set is one of the hundreds of sets I’ve sold in the last few years (some sales not on eBay). Read my feedback! Over 900 now! Erector Sets have lasted this long, and my restoration should last so long that the value will be CONSTANTLY RISING! $$$ The Steel girder parts (A,B, and C are Tin plated. These turn black-ish after this number of years. I have added parts that are mostly CAD plated and most of the plating is in good condition, I replace any bad condition parts. In a few circumstances, I had to add in other plating finishes. It is getting harder to find perfect parts this old. I did my best. Some parts are showing signs of missing plating, or tiny rust spots. I have cleaned these, and added some chemicals to deter further degradation. Every part is perfectly useable, even if not beautiful. This set has mostly great condition Brass! A few have missing plating in spots. All functional! This is a set u can BUILD WITH and not have to worry about hurting the plating or paint! All the parts that require them have the proper set screws in them. Screws and nuts: The screws and nuts have been inventoried-counted and all of them are correct quantities (or excess) per the inventory sheet. (this is extremely, extremely, extremely rare!) almost all are perfect originals, or modern plated reproductions. They are in original restored parts cans with restored stripped and repainted lids with new high quality labels. Tools This set is complete with all of its tools. All are in great condition. It is rare to find a set with all of its tools. This set has a larger, easy for children to grip, NZ screwdriver, and the original MM Wrench and the MW Nut holder. Motor: The electric motor works perfectly and I replaced the cord with a new cord (difficult to disassemble the motor and solder and heat shrink the new cord on and clean, lubricate and reassemble the motor!) and might be a different year then 1961. The motor housing has nice paint. The transmission has been stripped and repainted with the original red color. VERY RARE! Painted parts: All of the base plates are the original style and I have cleaned them. I repainted the MJ Magnet. AXLES: All axles are ALL stripped and re-blued the original black color (same as a gun). Very hard and long process. There r so many! They look like new! I have never seen another set for sale on eBay that someone has stripped all of the axles and re-blued them. This can be why my sets cost more than the competition, but I have tried to make this set cheaper by not having everything re-painted! Labels: The label for the part number T boiler is a reproduction. Manual: The manual for this set is an older original!! Very rare to find a 1961 copyright manual. This 10074 is called the “FERRIS WHEEL SET’. I have included an older 8 1/2 FERRIS WHEEL set manual. The models suggested in this set that u can build, are are about the same in the older manual. It has some creases and minor damage, but it’s actually in pretty good condition for a manual that’s over 63 years old!!! That kid played with it! Only 20% of sets I buy have manuals! I can’t believe when I open up a set and it has a manual that old in it. Many of the sets I sell, I have to put reproduction manuals in, because the original manual is missing, but this is a very special set! The manual does not have holes to mount it on the inside of the lid. Case/box: The case is in decent condition. I have cleaned it inside and out. Many of these lithographed sets lose their paint and rust very badly, on most of the sets that I get my hands on! The hinges and latches operate nicely. MJ electromagnet: The MJ magnet has been rebuilt with new long wires and It is stripped and repainted red. I have tested it, and it works. Reproduction parts: The following reproduction parts have been used in the restoration of this set. Cardboard layout layers, top, bottom and light/magnet/NJ cardboard. There are also many other liners and spacers. Very hard to reproduce. I used original cardboard for the patterns. This took 2 days, there are 9 separate pieces! Also the AJ flag, NZ screwdriver, and P 34 hank of string, and boiler and can labels are reproductions. This makes a great collectors item or a wonderful way to build with your son or daughter or grandchildren and give them some time away from the TV, video game or computer. Note: DON’T try to purchase A CHEAPER SET, U GET WHAT U PAY FOR. GOOD PRODUCTS HAVE REPRESENTATIVE PRICES! My prices ARE HIGHER than some other sets u will find. My PRODUCTS ARE AMONG THE BEST!
