Description: 1957 Topps #110 Vern Law Pittsburg Pirates High-end NM B57#110A1 This is a High-end 1957 Vern Law card with nice corners, straight edges and near perfect centering. Near perfect centering Nice corners Nice back Vintage ‘57 Law was more than a respectable pitcher as a Pirate in his 16 year career. He shined in ‘60 when the Pirates won it all against the Yankees in the World Series. He was signed in ‘48 by the Pirates and after two years in the military, he resumed service with the Pirates and began his prominent role on the Pirate staff that was maturing in the ‘50s into a World Series championship rotation. Law was a two time All-Star and Cy Young winner in ‘60 when he won 20 games to lead the Pirates into the World Series in 1960 where he won two games in the series against the Yankees. In all he was 162 and 147 lifetime with the Pirates and retired after the 68 season.
