According to the documentation that came with this guitar it is a 1957. According to the serial number and the product dating page on Gretsch's website it's a '58. According to the documentation, the original owner of this guitar received it as a college graduaton gift from his father. This guitar sounds fantastic. The pickup ring is cracked is several places. The pickup has patina all around. Neck binding has cracked off on the treble side past the 22nd fret. On the bass side by the 21st and 22nd fret the binding is seperating slightly from the neck. *The set screw for the neck pickup, on the bass side, is loose. In order to reset it the pickup and pick up ring must be removed. According to our in-house tech, due to the condition of the pickup ring, this has not been done because the pickup ring will probably fall apart if removed.
