Approx. 9.5" x 7.5" original 1957 High School Diploma for Mary Elizabeth McKinney who graduated from the Franklin Township High School in Indiana. This High School is no longer in existence---- In 1938, the Acton (circa 1910) and New Bethel (circa 1912) schools were consolidated at the Post Road location and the new school was called Franklin Township High School. As the 1950’s drew to a close the need for more extensive facilities brought on the construction of a new high school at Franklin Road and Edgewood Avenue. In September of 1960, all high school students in the district went to the new building called Franklin Central High School. CONDITION:Heavy age darkening to the Diploma and Satin Lining with age spots and foxing. Front cover has marks and surface wear and a faint light spot on the middle right side of the bottom edge. Tassel has some age darkening and surface wear, and the covers have surface wear, especially at the bumped corners.
