His name comes from eleven vases and one fragment painted by the same hand that are signed 'Amasis mepoiesen,' meaning 'Amasis made me.' Along with Exekias, he artist is credited with carrying the technique to its maturity. With forty four pages of black and white plates depicting the artist's work. CONDITION In a cloth binding with gilt title to spine. Externally: Missing dust-cover. Boards have suffered some rubbing. Inernally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with foxing to free-end papers and pastedowns. Scattered pencil marks.
