Description: Martin 0-18NaturalPre-Owned 1955 - Very Good Guitar presents very nicely for it's vintage - bridge and sadde have been replaced as the guitar had a lefty bridge/saddle setup before. Also note in photos that there was a hole plugged on the side near the endpin. After demoing the guitar and inspecting it closely John also suspects the top has been top coated with Nitro Lacquer. The 0-18 was a commanding instrument when it was introduced in 1898, dwarfing the company’s parlor guitars in terms of size. Like the majority of other Martin guitars, the 0-18 evolved from a 12-fret gut-string model to a 14-fret steel-string by the mid-1930s. For many years, the 0-18 remained a fixture in Martin’s catalog, and in the 1950s it was among the company’s hottest offerings, selling nearly as well as the D-28 dreadnought thanks to an agreeable price tag. Some formidable guitarists-Bob Dylan and Steve Earle, to name just two-would make good use of the 0-18’s balanced voice. Nonetheless, the 0-18 fell out of favor and it was discontinued in 1996. - Anna Pulley, Acoustic Guitar Magazine, 2017 SPECS: BODY Back & Side Wood: Mahogany Top Wood: Red Spruce NECK Neck Wood: Mahogany Scale Length: 24.9" Nut Width: 1-11/16" HARDWARE Original Grover Open gear tuners ADDITIONAL INFO: Comes with Martin Hardshell Case (Non-Original) Pictured paperwork Included Serial Number: 174702 3.5 lbs
