Description: This solid brass, nickel plated 1955 Gillette “Red Tip” razor you are viewing was thoroughly cleaned, polished, and sanitized. It's a razor designed with heavier beards in mind, as it features a thicker, heavier handle and a wider gap between the blade and guard. It's in great working condition. The doors open and close smoothly, as well as tighten down evenly and securely. The cosmetic condition is fair as there's a good bit of plate wear/brassing under the head. Naturally this doesn't effect the shaving experience. Also the end caps are missing, and this is purely a cosmetic issue. The earliest Gillette twist to open razors didn’t have end caps at all. If you are not sure what an end cap is, see the last photo where you’ll be directed to where the part was once located."A-3" is the date code, found under the head, and confirms that this razor was manufactured by Gillette during the third quarter of 1955.Included is a new five pack of stainless steel blades.
