1950s Turquoise Mexican Tourist Jacket Roping Cowboy Size M/L

Description: This listing is for a Lovely 1950s Turquoise Mexican Tourist Jacket Roping Cowboy Size M/L. This is an iconic Mexican jacket that was made for the tourists visiting Mexico in the 1940s to the 1960s. This jacket is quite unique in that instead of showing quaint village scenes, this jacket highlights a roping Charro Cowboy with mountains, a sunrise, fencing, and large cacti on the back. It is a beautiful dark turquoise wool felt with colorful horseshoe, flag, pot, cacti, and hats on the front, collar, and sleeves. It has red and white contrasting cross stitching around the collar, down the front, around the pockets and cuffs, and on the bottom of the jacket. It also has unusually shaped front pockets. Based on the slightly puffed sleeves, this jacket is circa early 1950s. This jacket is in beautiful condition with no holes, stains, or missing threads, and the embroidery is incredible. Any dark areas are shadows from photographing. These jackets, meant to be worn open, always look great with jeans, skirts, and especially, with the vintage Mexican circle skirts. I have a collection of over 140 of these jackets that I have amassed over the last 35 years. I have really enjoyed wearing these jackets over the years, and at this point in my life, I have decided to sell off my whole collection. I selected only jackets that were in impeccable condition. My jackets have been stored in a cedar lined, cool storage space to prevent any damage from sunlight or insects. I have collected every color and design imaginable. Most are a size S or M.
