Description: Description: Toy stagecoach, 'Butterfield Stage Lines', tin plate, made by Alps, Japan, c. 1950/60’s A wind up toy stage coach made from tin plate. Graphics are clear and bright. The body of the coach has been painted yellow with green, blue and red detailing. A woman's head and two men shooting guns have been painted in the windows on either side of the coach. A tin cowboy figure sits up front of the coach and the coach is being pulled by two tin horses that have been shaped and painted to look like they are galloping at speed. On one side of the coach is a winding key. Two ‘guns’ are protruding from the back of the coach and shot ‘sparks’ when new. The tin wheels of the coach turn on metal axles but are not currently attached to the coach. One side is pulling away from the top of coach and it appears to be some old masking tape residue in that same area. Slight rusting noted on some edges. This is a well loved toy but could be a nice addition to your collection. Please do review all pics carefully.
