Description: 🦒✨ 1950s Authentic 1950s 18 panel black giraffe skirt Size M ✨🦒 Authentic 1950s more than a full-circle novelty-print skirt featuring a whimsical giraffe scene. This is the blue on black colourway which is the same print as the skirt worn by Lorraine in Back to the Future 2. This skirt was originally a sew your own kit where the panels were cut out and sewn by the owner. The kit did not come with a waistband or fastenings so each skirt is slightly different. Sold in JC Penney, these skirts were tremendously popular in the 1950s as home sewing machines became more widespread and women often made their own clothes. Made from cotton, this skirt has 18 glorious panels which make her more than a complete circle. The black background is not as deep black as she once was, however the colour is even. Diagonal repair just below the snaps area. Light brown spots in vertical pattern on one tree panel with small less than 1/4 inch hole on a panel and another near the hem which I only found when pressing her. The waistband has been taken in by approximately 1 inch on one side and this would be easy to let out again if you choose to do so. She fastens with two buttons and two snaps all of which appear original. Waist 28 inches Length 29 inchesHem allowance 1 1/2 inch This skirt has been laundered, air dried and pressed so is ready to wear.
