Description: 1948 Dewey Warren Pinback This vintage political pinback button was from the 1948 presidential campaign where Dewey ran against haberdasher Harry Truman. The newspapers declared Dewey the winner prior to all the votes being counted, and before Truman was officially declared the winner. I don’t think there was a conspiracy movement regarding that election, though. The pin is 7/8" in diameter. They were manufactured by Green Duck, and are marked so around the rim. https://www.madeinchicagomuseum.com/single-post/green-duck-co who were political pinback makers out of Chicago, non-partisan, who would print for either party. The pinback is in very fine, unused condition with very few age marks. My store items are from auctions, garage sales and/or estate sales, generally pre-owned and sold as is. I rarely clean, repair or retouch anything I have in my store though I will always advise when I do so. Descriptions are as accurate as I can make them, and measurements are approximate.
