Here is a scene as the United States Army Air Forces smashed the Japanese convoy the early part of March in the Bismarck Sea between New Britain and New Guinea in which 22 Japanese transports and warships were sunk. Here is a merchant vessel or transport, approximately 300-350 feet long, probably afire amidships. She was armed with three guns. Photo measures 7 x 9.25 inches. Photo is dated 04-01-1943.
