Description: Purchased three years ago out of Pikeville, Kentucky. Restored by a luthier in Johnson City, Tennessee. Neck reset. Bracing reattached. Refretted (Medium Jumbo Fret Wire). Added a Zero Fret. Bone nut. Original bridge replaced with hand carved twin (Original bridge will ship with guitar). The back had separated in two places from the sides and was repaired. Binding was added and matches the front. A small crack in the back was also repaired. Original butterbeans have been replaced with period-correct twins. Original Kluson tuning machines and backs. Regal waterslide was added to the headstock. It is also period-correct. Stencil is all original. No touch-ups. Action is low. Very easy to play. Great fingerpicking guitar. I’ve included a YouTube link of Windy & Warm by Doc Watson being played on it. It’s currently strung with 12-53 Martin Retro Monel strings. Since being restored it has spent 98% of the time strictly on display. It has stayed down-tuned when not being played. And only tuned up to C# Standard tuning when played to keep tension off the neck to accommodate the 12s. It sounds great tuned to standard with 10s or 11s also I have the original purple-lined case. It is in poor condition. The lid is no longer connected to the case. Here’s a link to a video of Doc Watson’s “Windy & Warm” being played on it https://youtu.be/KEAyKulm83w?si=5_DzEGUJHy9UqWwN Will have the utmost care taken in packing and shipping. Will ship same day or the following day. Feel free to message with questions or for more photos or video. I respond quickly.
