1940's Robert Dudley Designer Pale Green Duponi Silk Small Hat

Description: Romantic Renaissance Style Hat. Made by famous Couture Designer Robert Dudley. It is a collectors item for true vintage hat affectionados. This interesting master millinery piece evokes the gabled hats worn by Katherine of Aragon (King Henry VIII's First Wife). It is hand signed by Robert Dudley. The crown detail is dainty and lovely. Small, although it makes a big statement. Fabric is a pale green linen, understated color, not bright or overly pastel. Label - hand signed by Robert Dudley Fair condition. The hat is lined with a dark slightly sheer brown silk which is slightly worn in 2 small places. The hat exterior is in fair to good condition. Clean, no stains but it is clearly an antique hat.. Provenance: Washington DC Millinery collector. The hat has been in my collection since 2010. Reportedly the hat originally was owned by Elizabeth Gordon, Editor of House Beautiful magazine from 1939 to 1964. She was a personal friend of Robert Dudley and architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
