Description: Here is a 24" scale parlor guitar that I have strung with baritone strings and tuned as a cello - CGDA. Think of it as a mandocello with only 4 strings - and a lot easier to play. Most of these old Kay parlor guitars had birch tops but this one is solid spruce and has that rich, mellow tone that you get from spruce. That and the Kamico labeling make this one pretty rare It can be strung as an Irish tenor or Chicago tenor with different strings. I've put on new locking tuners and added a single coil pickup with volume and tone controlsThe string height at the 12th fret is set at just over 1/8" bass side and just under that on the treble side and it plays well there up and down the fingerboard. If you already play tenor guitar or banjo, here's an easy way to mix in some bass. String gauges are 70 - 47 - 34 - 18.Ships in a new padded gig bag. I've posted an sample on SoundCloud under ClaytonAudiosoundcloud.com/claytonaudio/kay-cello-guitar-test3 Length - 39" Scale - 24" Lower bout - 13 1/2" Upper bout - 9 1/2" Depth - 3 3/4" Nut - 1 11/16" Weight - 4.5 lbs
