Description: This is a scarce pennant of the Chicago Cubs designating them as National League Champions. Someone long ago added the year 1938 in paint near the tip which may or may not accurately describe when this pennant was actually produced. While the Cubs were league champions in 1938, they also won in 1945. Nevertheless, this is a scarce pennant which seldom surfaces. The front of the pennant has faded over time from its original purple, while the reverse has retained a bit of original color. The tip is only slightly rounded, and there are the usual pinholes from thumbtacks where it was hung on a fans wall years ago. The spine is in great shape and all four tassels are still intact. A tag showing Charles Shear, Concessioner out of New York is still attached. This will be mailed loosely rolled.
