This copy has been signed by the author on the first free endpaper and comes with a card written by the author's daughter to the previous owner gifting this book to them.A work on the exploration of Glacier national park in the 1890s and early 1900s by the author's grandfather, Lyman Beecher Sperry. "Sperry Glacier", was discovered and named after Lyman Sperry. Sperry Glacier has shrunk from over 3 million square meters in a survey done by Sperry in 1901 to under a million square meters when measured again in 2010. At the time Sperry had already described it as "dying, dying, dying".This book is in very good condition. Rubbing/chipping/shelf wear to the jacket around the edges, corners and at the top/bottom of the spine panel. Rubbing/soiling/shelf wear to the front/rear jacket panels as well as along the spine panel. Sun fading to the jacket along the spine panel. Boards are straight and clean with a bumped corner. The hinges are strong and text block tight within the binding. There are no other marks, tears, bookplates or writing in this book.
