Description: I have here for sale a wonderfully illustrated book entitled THE AUTOCAR The Representative British Motoring Journal, embracing all types of Cars, Volume LXXIX July-September 1937. Published by Iliffe & Sons Ltd, London in that year. It is a bind up of all thirteen weekly issues of the Autocar magazine from July 2nd through to September 24th. Each weekly issue still has its colour front cover and there are one or two colour plates included as well, together with around 50 pages of advertising which is sometimes as interesting as the editorial copy. It includes car reviews and test drives, mechanical and technical explanations, road trips around the world, reports on rallies like Brooklands, and Q & As, with readers and readers' funny stories, car equipment features., second hand cars for sale, etc. The second half of each issue is Miscellaneous Advertisements. You could potentially break the volume and sell the thirteen weekly issues individually. Black cloth hardboards with gilt lettering to the spine. Some wear to joints and to corners. The binding is pulling between the index page and title page so the front board and spine covering are starting to pull away from the binding block. Rear board firm. Condition very good. 30 x 20 cm. If you buy more than one item then the postage cost falls for the second and further items as I will put them into one parcel - so you save money.
