Description: Jamaica to USA cover 5 George V stamps canceled 1937 Kingston to Ft. Madison, IA I am going through some of my late grandfather's possessions, and he has some interesting postage stamps and envelopes. Grandpa lived in Ft. Madison, Iowa, where Sheaffer Pen Company was and still is headquartered. At the time, fine pens like theirs were often sold in jewelry stores, so Grandpa has envelopes from lots of jewelers, bookstores and stationers around the world that must have once held payments or orders. This posted envelope was slit at the top and right edge with a letter opener to remove contents. Envelope has 5 1/2d George V green stamps and was mailed to Messrs W.A. Sheaffer Pen Co. in Fort Madison, Iowa. Postmarked August 24, 1937 in Kingston, Jamaica. Stamps are clear and in nice condition. Normal handling wear. I will ship as soon as I receive payment.
