Description: This fantastic card is one in a series of cards issued by the H.J. Heinz Co. and was issued in 1936. One was inserted into each package of Heinz Breakfast Wheat and Rice Flakes cereal. The series is designated as series F227-1 in Burdick’s American Card Catalogue and is entitled “Famous Airplane Pictures” This series was issued from 1934-39. The ones issues from 1936-39 are considered the 2nd series. (the 1934-35 issues are considered the 1st series, even though the cards are the same). The year of issue is indicated by the print number on the back, with the last 2 digits of that number indicating year of issue In this case it is 14636 (meaning 1936 issue). Each card features a beautifully illustrated image of the featured Airplane, while the back features advertising (and a premium album offer) and a brief bio. of the Plane. This card is 14 in the series and features a KELLETT AUTOGIRO K-4. The Card measures 3 inches by 1 7/8 inches approximately. The card does have some creases. I have scanned the front and back of the card fairly large so you can determine the condition for yourself. Don’t miss out.
