1930s Chubby 26” Composition Mama Baby Doll Sleep Eyes In Antique Outfit/cb

Description: Wonderful big and chubby 26” vintage mama baby doll. She is unmarked as many were in the 1930s. Composition flange head, arms and legs. Delightfully chunky cloth body with a non-working crier in the lower back. She has a sweet face with brown tin sleep eyes that work but squeak a little. Her human hair lashes are almost fully intact. Her mouth is open and there are two lower teeth and a tongue. She has molded reddish blonde hair. She is in overall good solid condition, but the last 9 decades have definitely left some scars. All the composite components show various degrees of crazing and cracking. It appears that some areas of her legs have been painted to disguise damage to the composite. Her body is very clean ( just a few brown age spots), her shoulders have been very skillfully patched. Her body has a faintly musty odor that is only noticeable when putting it close to your nose. One of her eyes is crackled. She wears what appears to be an antique christening outfit. There is a tag in her beautiful bonnet that dates it to 1915/16. She also wears one knitted bootie, a cloth diapers, a shift, a christening gown and a lovely satin coat. This lovely carefully handmade outfit is in very nice antique condition. It could use a gentle overall refreshing and a little mending. This baby would make a wonderful addition to any doll collection.
