Nahum Gutman (1898–1980) was an Israeli painter, sculptor and author born in what is now Teleneşti, Moldova, then part of the Russian Empire. In 1903, he and his parents moved to Odessa; in 1905, they emigrated to Israel. Gutman helped pioneer a distinctively Israeli style, different from the European models of his teachers. He was quite eclectic as an artist, working in oils, watercolours, gouache, sculpture, mosaics, and engravings.
