An interesting association copy, signed by Frances Partridge to the front free endpaper. Both Frances Partridge and Roger Fry were members of the prominent literary Bloomsbury Group together with Virginia Woolf, Lytton Strachey, and Clive Bell among others. CONDITION In the original publisher's quarter cloth binding over paper covered boards. Externally sound with some shelf wear and bumping to the head and tail of the spine, minor chipping tot he head of the spine and extremities of the boards. Minor marking to the spine and front board. With some darkening to the spine. Signed by Frances Partridge to the front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Light minor spotting to the occasional page, particularly to the first and last few leaves, otherwise the pages are bright and clean. With thirty-six full page plates as well as other illustrations in text. Collated, complete.
