Published by Haldeman-Julius in Kansas. 1923. 63 pages. See photo #7. Honey and Gall. By Llewelyn Powys. Little Blue Book #534, published by Haldeman-Julius in Kansas, 1924. 63 pages. This would appear to be the First American Edition of these autobiographical essays by the author and traveler, gathered together at this date by Haldeman-Julius from various English and American periodicals and newspapers and put into book form. There is a tiny paper chip to the bottom left hand corner of the front wrapper. See photos #2 & #3 (for a list of contents). The Book Collector's Packet for March 1939. 16 page issue (see photo #9) opens with "A Bibliographical Checklist of the First Editions (30) of Llewelyn Powys," with a prefatory word by Alyse Gregory. Uncommon Chicago issue, appearing here 9 months before the early death of Powys. The Times Literary Supplement (London) for 8 February 1974. John Cowper's life and work are the main feature essay/review (unsigned, as were all essays in the weekly at this date) of this number and his portrait adorns the weekly's cover.
