Dempsey is seen after defending his title for the third time since he took it from Jess Willard. He went toe to toe against George's Carpentier in what was dubbed the "Fight of the Century". This would be the first of many with the same title. They pushed this as Georges being the French "War Hero" fighting Dempsey the "Draft Dodger" who went on trial the year prior for Draft Evasion. This bout was the first boxing fight to produce more than $1 million dollars and draw the attention of women as fans based on all of the good publicity for Carpentier.
