It is a guide for women on voting and the structure and function of government, from municipal to federal, and as said function pertains to finance and commerce. It features a frontis chart summarizing American legislation affecting women and children, divided by state. The introduction was written by Carrie Chapman Catt, President of the National American Woman Suffrage Association. In 1918, when it was published, some states had granted women the right to vote but ratification of the 19th amendment was still two years away.
