Description: The art on this post card makes it one of the most beautiful Art Nouveau postcards I've ever seen. It shows two young women, one is nude and caught up in a whirlwind of colorful silk while the other is carrying a basket overflowing with red flowers. This scene was a painting by Aleardo Terzi to advertise the 1911 International Exhibition in Rome. What today we would call a “World's Fair.” The event was open from April 29th,1911 to November 19th, 1911. This post card was mailed on April 15, 1911, by Mario in Rome to Adolpho in Firenze, Italy. This card has extra value because its postmark date proves it is authentic and not a reproduction, and it was actually mailed in time to let the receiver know the Rome Exhibition was about to happen. This card will come to you in a clear acid-free soft sleeve and a hard sleeve which allows you to handle and/or store it while protecting it. This postcard measures 5 1/2" X 3 1/2". From my smoke free home. Words describing this listing are Art Nouveau, Artist Signed, Aleardo Terzi, Mucha, Historic, Posted, Postmark, Cancel, Postmarked, PM, Sent, PU
