Located at 8 North Howard Street in Baltimore, Maryland, the New Howard Hotel was built in 1905 to replace the original Howard House built circa 1850. This former hotel is now a residential apartment building known as CenterPoint. MANUFACTURER: OPCO CHINA / ONONDAGA POTTERY COMPANY AGE: circa 1913 - 1920 PATTERN: ADOLPHUS DESCRIPTION: This is a RARE relish dish once used in a dining room at New Howard Hotel, once located in Baltimore, Maryland! This oval plate is decorated in the Adolphus pattern. It has a white body with a beaded border in brown around the rim linked to an inner border of swags and opal-like pendants in shades of green, brown and yellow. The plate is topmarked by the hotel's green shield with multiple fleur de lis and the words "New Howard" in a diagonal. A lion sits atop the shield. Stamped with the green Buffalo O.P. Co. mark and impressed with a club or shamrock within a diamond. A great addition to your restaurant ware china collection! SIZE: 12-1/8" long and 5-5/8" across CONDITION DETAILS: GOOD to VERY GOOD. Overall light contact wear. Tiny stains on tim, inside bowl, and on heel ring. One tiny flea bite on underside of rim [see photo]. No other scratches, chips or cracks.
