Description: This is a wonderful mug/stein from 1904 that was awarded for Small Arms Practice March 1904 Special Handicap. There are initials at the bottom of the stein under the logo & etching. A wonderful enamel badge is attached for the 23rd Regiment of the National Guard New York. There is a clear glass bottom of the stein. The metal alloy (maybe copper tin) is oxidized in many areas. There is a makers mark on the bottom rim that reads John Price New York. I don’t think this was made from an old shell casing. There is light scratches in areas, discoloration like multi-color swirls on the metal, and some light scratches on the glass bottom. The stein has good weight to it. It measures 5” tall and the base is 4” wide. Overall, a really nice piece of New York military history.
