What a find! These earrings are dated 1986. The name for the earrings is “The Royal Crown Tiara Earrings.” At around the same time, the Franklin mint produced a similar ring in honor of Princess Diana. *** I have searched high and low on the internet and have only seen a few of the 14k version of these earrings in old auctions. I have not been able to find the 18K version of earrings currently available for sale anywhere. I am sure there was a limited amount produced as they were produced by the Franklin Mint. I have only seen auctions/sales from 2018 and 2020. This is truly a special pair of earrings by designer Stuart Devlin. I know you will be thrilled! To me, these earrings are amazing and in excellent vintage condition, which typically means, gently worn and well taken care of - wear consistent with age. However, to me, they appear to only be slightly worn if worn at all, I do not see any notable wear. The backs are also 18k. These earrings to me, are delicate and dainty so I am sure if they were worn, it was probably for a special occasion. For weight and metal purity I rely on the results of my Fusion scale and the common Puri Test Acid tests.
