Description: Here's a stereo card produced the year after the 1896 presidential campaign showing the democrat nominee, William Jennings Bryan. Attending the DNC in Chicago, the youthful Bryan was a delegate from Nebraska who rose to make a speech. That famous "Cross of Gold" oration wowed that audience so much that they turned around and nominated him for president! But, by the time the public heard about some of his crazy monetary and societal ideas, he got creamed at the polls by the republican Ohio Governor, William McKinley. But that didn't stop Bryan from running for and receiving the democrat party's nomination two more times, each with an equally astounding, complete defeat. So then, President Woodrow Wilson made him his Secretary of State, just like Obama did with John Kerry after his previous election rejection, and Kennedy did when making Adlai Stevenson Ambassador to the U.N. after his two big defeats. They gotta keep it in the family, you know. This was produced by the Kilburn Stereoscopic Company with an image (evidently) copyrighted by James M. Davis, who released it in New York, St. Louis, Liverpool, England, Toronto, Canada and Sydney, Australia. Wow-all over the place. We have several other Bryan stereo cards for sale in our eBay store. It is in nice condition but please look at our images to judge condition for yourself so you can be happy with your purchase. S & H on it will be $6.50, first class with tracking.
