1894 English Birmingham Sterling Silver Highly Decorative Box No Mono

Description: Presented is a highly decorative English sterling silver round box. This piece displays fancy scrolls with horse heads and the North-wind or Green-man face in high relief. The interior has a soft gold wash throughout. There are two cartouches around the sides of the box and one on the lid; none of which are monogrammed. The lip of the box is marked with full English hallmarks: the lion passant for sterling silver, the anchor mark for the city of Birmingham, and the date letter representing 1894. This piece also displays a maker's mark for Horton & Allday. The box is in fair condition. This piece is sold as is. There are many small pin holes on the high points around the cartouche on either side of the box and on the lid. These are shown well in the photos. Due to the hole we don't recommend putting anything liquid or very small in the box, but it will work great as a dresser box for cotton balls, makeup, or whatever you like. The lid fits well. There are no monograms, no monogram removals, no breaks, and no repairs. Measurements: 2 1/2 inches in diameter and 3 inches tall with lid Weight: 76 grams or 2.7 ounces -kc Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
