Description: This is a gorgeous 1893 pressing of Whittier's Early Poems with an autobiographical sketch by N. H. Dole. It was published by TY Crowell & Co. of New York. The cover has a beautiful art nouveau floral design and is embossed/impressed so it is textured. The cover is also made from a slightly squishy material. It's really quite unique. There is gold embellishment on the front, and the top edge of the book also has a gilt edge. Inside, there is a photo of Whittier with a facsimile signature. Really great condition! This is a petite book: measures 6.26" x 4.25" and weighs 0.5 Ib Really beautiful collector's item.
